LUCY IN THE MUSIC MAN PLAY

Lucy loved being in the Music Man play. She was on stage much of the time and of course was the prettiest and cutest of all. She practiced for 4 months with heavy practice near the end. Betty our older neighbor lady went three times and I (dad) who loves musicals and Lucy went four times. We love Lucy.

Peter, Dallin, Eden, Tanner, Andy and Grandpa (not shown). We are at Ski Bowl. It was bring cans of food day and with a bag of Cilla's grocery's we all got lift tickets for free. It was Tanners first time. Perfect weather. Warm enough the adults didn't wear gloves most of the time. Not to sunny, no sun burns. We had a sack lunch and made Chile with the microwave. Peter said he wanted to get his skis waxed so I did too. This was after lunch. Anyway, it was my turn to take Tanner. I couldnt walk up to the lift my new waxed skis and fell over the top of Tanner, not laying on him. He proceeded to scream and 100 people looked at me. He was OK but I was sure embarrassed. Andy was a supper helper and he learned that bending over all day with a kid between your skis can get to your back. Dallin skied on his own along some roadways we followed. Eden wanted to go fast and she skied with Andy, Grandpa and at the end she got to ski with dad. Tanner was a natural as far bravery and balance but this was his first time to spend the whole day in the snow. Grandpa and Tanner went down to the lodge the last 20 minutes. I thought he might be sleepy while going down the last big slope and was hoping he wouldn't fall asleep causing us to cross skiis and crash. When we got to the lodge he immediately fell a sleep. One last thing Tanner loves Spider Man now and his skiis had spiders on them.

Ye Ol Bunk Rooms

Avast, ye ol bunk room number 4 has been chosen by LD and Michelle's gang. Zee details have arrived for your considerin.

The cabin has six bedrooms and three full bathrooms. Bedroom #1 on the main floor is a huge master bedroom, has a king size bed, cable TV, and its own bath. Upstairs bedroom #2 has one double bed. Bedroom # 3 sleeps 6 and has two custom-made twin over double bunk beds. Bedroom #4 also sleeps 6 and has two custom made twin over double bunk beds, This large bedroom also has a cable TV with game ports for your video games etc. All three floors at Sea Haven have great Ocean views.

Downstairs are two more bedrooms, one more bathroom, a second full size kitchen & living room, One bedroom has a king size bed and the other has two twin over twin bunk beds.

Andy is having his Eagle Scout board on the 25th of February. Yea Andy! Andy also competed in the district swim meet and did well. Luke just got his BYU exceptance at Provo. Luke competed in the swim meet also and is going to compete at state in the relay. He will be doing 50 butterfly.

Dad is in a geneology class at church and learning the NEW FAMILY SEARCH program. To log on the site address is new.familysearch.org I dont believe you can find that address on the church web page. It is different than the familysearch site. It is really awsome in that you can search your own line and post your line and link your families and set up to do temple work all at the same time. It will let you know of temple work not done. Then you tell it you want to do it and you can print out a paper that you take directly to the temple with a bar code on it.

Mom put on a really fun talent show for the primary. It was really cute. Lucy played her clarinet and played a piano duet and was in a skit, where she laid down, with her legs and feet out and another girl set over her mid section. It look like it was one person. Lucy would do silly things with her feet and legs.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

Today, Lucy took off to school covered with pol-a-dots! Her pig tails with colored hair bands, her hair against her head with color sprayed though a stencil, her shirt with perm marker polk-a-dots, her pj bottoms (adult size sewn down to fit)polk-a-dots, her face arms and feet (wearing flip flops)polk-a-dots with washable markers. She's going to a 6th grade Halloween party at school and from there will join us to go to a ward party and from there to trick or treat and from there to watch movies!

I hear we've got some fun things going on thoughout our family for Halloween: Pirates, Palin, Lobster, Lion, King, Cat, Construction Worker, Doctor, Darth Vader, Joker, Football player and Football!

Fathers day - fathers day started off with larryd, miranda, derek , spencer, lindsey who camped in our backyard the night before. then michelle joined us for breakfast. where dad opened up his awesome navigator from each of you. he loved it. at church luke, dad, and heidi all spoke in sacrament meeting, and in primary dad was one of the secret dads who hid behind a curtain adn disgused his voice to soprano and answered questions. lucy recongized him quickly. heidi and lucy sang a duet of a childs prayer with luke accompaining them on his giutair in primary. after church we joined the messingers and grandpa hedman in SE portland and had dinner. from there we stopped at grandpa dickinsons and following went to tyler minettos missionary open house as he is going to serve in mexico. whew. a big day. here is a copy of heidis talk honoring dad.

F is for family. My dad has always put my family first. He’s always made it a priority for my family to be very close, by putting together activities and trips for us to spend time and get closer. He’s dedicated his life to his family and we owe many of our success to him. he’s been a good example, helps us make high goals and he believes in us to make them, he loves us for who we are. I know that there’s nothing more important to him than his family and that’s what makes me feel so lucky.

A is for awesome dude
My dad is fearless. My dad likes to raft, snow ski, water skis on stilts, bungee jump, skydiving, marathons whether practiced for or not, one scripture describes him.. my father dwelt in a tent. He loves to camp, loves to bike, he’s strong – he can lift anything and He can fix things. He’s a fish in water… He scuba dives, swims for miles, floats pretty much the whole deshouts river with out a boat, he water-skis barefoot.

T is for time

Most all of my dad’s time is
Working for my family
Spending time with us
Or fulfilling a calling
He takes time to gather us to read scriptures and have fhe. Before dinner he stops us to choose some one to say a blessing on the food.
He even took the time to make up some individual nick names – mine being hey there hi there ho there as happy as can be there.
He’s took time to teach me how to roller skate and how to swim and he even jumps on the trampoline with me.
he’s made me know how important I am because I feel like his time is dedicated to me.
One thing that that I struggle with is waking up in the morning…and my dad has decided to take the challenge and wake me up. He sings to me every morning ether “way up in the sky where the little birds fly” or “oh what a beautiful morning.” Really loud! And if that doesn’t work then he starts dumping water on me. This has helped me out so much so I can get to the places I need to be. When I went to college.. I got a present right before and he got me a alarm clock that’s on wheels so when I wake up I have to chase it down. and still on top of that While I was at college he even took the time to call me every morning to make sure I wake up.

H is for humor
Dad is the funniest guy I know. He can make anyone laugh. He makes a good monkey. Any time us girls are dancing he jumps in and imitates us. He’s filled with fun sayings like when its time to go he says “lets split or at least come apart of seams.” whenever I say “ah shoot” he says bang!

E is for eternal, he set a goal as a child to go on a mission and to the temple and even though his oldest brothers choose another way, he stuck to what he knew was right and wouldn’t waver. He wouldn’t have gotten married any other way then in the temple. And because of this we are sealed together as a family forever. His testimony runs deep and we have no question of his testimony.

R is for revelation. He has a strong relationship with heavenly father and has used his priesthood to bless us in many ways. One time when I was little I was feeling sick and I ask my dad for a blessing and he dropped everything he was doing and did it. He for as long as I can remember he has given me a fathers blessing every year before school started. He baptized each of us until he had sons old enough to have this opportunity. He confirmed me and I can remember the good feeling that I had, knowing that my dad in partnership with heavenly father was doing this for me.

I have other fathers in my life like my grandpas, home teacher, our bishop, and heavenly father.
I have been lucky to have 2 grandpas around and each is a patriarch of a big family. Grandpa Dickinson always took me out to eat for my birthday and never missed a hug. And grandpa hedman always had the homemade root beer floats and plays pool with me. And is an example of regularly serving in the temple.

Brother Kinsley is my home teacher. He even loves our dog. He’s always so interested on what’s going on in my life. And has a message for us bringing the spirit in to our home.

The father of our ward is our bishop and I appreciate his strong testimony and kind way in serving us.

I know I have a father in heaven who loves me and wants me to return to him. And I am so thankful to him for all the blessings which I have.

Some day I will find a father for my kids and I will look for someone who can be a strong foundation for my family like my dad.

On fathers day today my message to you dad is a ditto of the card u received in the mail from Tammy which says..
Dad, I love you for more reasons then there are stars in the sky, grains of sand on the beach, hairs on your head… okay maybe not that last one so much. But I love u so much happy father’s day!

mark car - mark had his 21st birthday and recieved a car! (a nisson pathfinder) and here it is...

templeton - on the last assembly of the last day of our 27 years at templeton, 7 hrs after i returned home from ohio, our family was honored. a giant picture of our 12 kid family was projected on a big screen, and hte principle said there is one person missing from this family thats been here for 27 yrs.. adn this person is...lucy dickinson! will u please come down. she walked up a center aisle as the school cheered her. then our family (dad, me, heidi, luke, andy and lucy) was invited up and i was given 13 red roses one rose to reperesent each child. as previously arranged i said a few words. some of the facts that i shared in my comments are... (words are coming when i find them) ohio trip - Heidi, andy adn i flew to ohio for an awesome stay with david melissa and family. the kids greeted us in their armor... pillow for shield, plastic swords and colored undies for helmets!
for calebs 8th birthday he recieved an awesome bike from a bike shop! which he rode so fast that david had to sprint to keep up. from both grandmas he got a marble maze kit which he put together into a monster marble maze. By calebs request he wanted a turnup for his birthday for dessert and here it is.

The next day David was honored with fancy dinner by doctors, nurses, and staff of the hospital. there were slide shows singing and talks all dedicated to David. (we will be inserting these videos soon)

The highlight of the trip was seeing Calebs big smile as he came out of the water at his baptism. He walked out of the door in his new suit and tie that matched his dads. He became comfirmed, he recieved a beautiful blessing from his dad, and was instructed that he can find any answer in the scriptures. Calebs eyes sparkled as he jumped high in the air to be caught by his favorite adults to give them each a big hug. Hyrum explicitely and with enthusiaum gave a heart felt talk about baptism and how happy he was that Caleb was getting baptised. It reminded me of when David gave a talk about his admiration and love for Larry D. at Ld's mission farewell.

we were lucky to be with ruth on her 2nd birthday. her eyes lit as she opened a unbrella, cute hat and farm animal talking machine. ruth and i hit it off as she often sat on my lap and let me read storys to her, now we're buddys forever. sunday i enjoyed taking nearly a row with andy heidi me and david melissa and family. ammon was so excited to give a talk in primary that in sacrament meeting he kept waving his talk in the air trying to get the bishops attention so he could give his talk there too. in primary he explained that his mom and dad go to the temple so that their family can be together forever. and they do this because they love him so much. he spoke boldly with his stage voice and a big smile.

dodgeing cicatas we went to the library on monday and read books and books and books. several attacking heidi especially. we went to a mexican resturant and afterwards caleb tryed to smuggle a handful of 2inch cicadas into his pockets to take home. they we were treated with the one and only chicken movie. this is a "must see" and you will know everything you ever wanted to know about chickens. the night before david won us all in ticket to ride, so that night we played a second round. andy slaughter us all big time, and david who risked all or nothing, lost with a record breaking low score of 15.

it was hard to say goodbye to david melissa caleb hyrum ammon and ruth. they are an incredible family and we'd enojyed every minute of our time together.

California trip - with 20 minutes notice and cilla in labor i (mom) dashed to the airport and made it in time to share a most incredible experience. as dallins support, we witnessed the miracle of carters birth. dallin was totally interested and very excited through the whole event. from the moment i saw carter i saw a calm and collected dickinson looking beautiful baby. As a granny nanny eden and tanner and i ventured off to grocerey shop and filled two carts. and off to a toy store. John, Sarah and Zora came over - we had a suduku contest adn made homemade hot fudge for our ice cream. i was surprised how grown up Zora has become and how determined she is to walk. Peter had his first day at his new job. adn i visited dallins school.

Lucy birthday - lucy turned 11 and at her request we had chinese food, mexican smoothies and watermelon for dinner. and one of her gives was a collection of 124 rubber duckies in which she is in the process of naming. after dinner our family played lazer tag and miniture golf.

Lucy birthday friend party - wild and wacky!! was lucys slumber party of 29 girls at the hilsboro cabin. singing at the camp fire, dancing through the night, murder, camando, box games, vegetable game, snort game, pretty kitty, gestures, and snacks were few of the events. sleep was about the only activity lacking.

Battle of the books - for months lucy has been preparing for battle of the books which is school vs. school. there are 20 booiks and lucy was on a team of 7 people, she was to read 3 or 4 books. but she read 19 of the 20. in the battle she did incredible -knew the almost every answer for every book. better then that - she has continued reading other books by the same authors.

Mothers day - this mothers day i woke up to breakfast in bed, heidi lucy and i matched in pink going to church, and i got the most incredible book form each of you. second to my scriptures - it is my most favorite book! thank you everyone i will always treasure it!

Memorial day - we went and visited both grandmas grave site. grandpa hedman -already has his name on his tomb stone next to grandmas and he chuckled and suggested that we take a picture of him laying on the ground reaching over and putting his arm on grandma. Starlight parade - heidi, larryd, spencer, linsey ran the whole parade, lucy joined us as we ran past her. heidi dressed as a byu student. larry d says he will use his same costume next year cuz he drew alot of attention in darth vader outfit pushing a stroller. and it was amazing that spencer ran most of it and enjoyed giving hundreds of people high fives in his skeleton outfit.
Soccer - lucy finished her first year of indoor soccer and because of her fearless nature was one of the stars on the team. lucy added life to her soccer party with her ingenious ideas.. such as putting frosting on ur face.

Girl scouts - lucy was featured in the tigard times for heading a booth at the council girl scout awareness fair. she was over the canine for clean water booth.. which they called the poop station. lucy invented a game called.. pin the poop on the scoop game, which she headed up. spot was awarded an official caninie for clean water scarf.

Track - Luke was very entertaining in track this year! he generally pasted his competition in on the last length, and often shoe less as his shoes often got untied. one time after a race he ran straight over to the pole vaulting station and they had already raised the bar above his best jump.. so what does he do he jumps it anyway and clears it. luke runs regularly on his owna nd today is joining a swim club. go luke!

93 years - on grandpas 93rd birthday we were treated to hearing him sing a norwegian song for us and dorothy, gaylene, grandpa and I sang you are my sunshine in harmony. grandpa even did his monkey impression for us. we talked about many past memories and had many laughs and tears! we had a special family prayer together. gaylenes family, scott and julies family, dorothy, larry d family and us were all here to celebrate. it was one of the best celebrations we had.

Easter - easter was a fun filled day with larry ds family, with boiled eggs, candy and prized filled eggs, and chocolate pig and cow and other animals! and an awesome presentation in primary.

Oaks Park - in march we made a trip to oaks park with our family and friends. luckly with tall shoes lucy was able to ride the rides with her friends. it was a blast!

St. Patricks Day - green is the word on st patricks day, lucy and her friends had green faces, green hair, green clothes, green jewerly, green pencils, and lucy even had a st patrick ducky on her desk!!!

Lucy got a goal in indoor soccer. Larry D and kids were there to witness it. Yeah Lucy!

Luke led the pack of about 15 runners in the 2 mile race most of the way and finished thired. Really awsom! Imediatly after running two miles he competed in the pole vault and cleared the bar.

Tonight Luke was not only awarded a letter for Swimming, but by popular vote was given a plaque for "Most Inspirational Swimmer" It was commented that he would often jog to and from swimming and whenever John Rozikawas at the pool, he would find Luke swimming. Then a team member spoke up and told about a time that a bus came late to the Tualatin pool, so Luke ran 7 miles home and beat the bus.

Lindsey- Through The Eyes of a Child

At eighteen months Lindsey sees what others miss. Her eyes are clear and bright. She looks at you with intent and at times it seems that she sees into your heart and your soul. It doesn’t matter that your old and wrinkled, your hair has thinned or misshapen. She doesn’t focus on your weight or even your clothes. She looks directly into your eyes and without saying a word she communicates that you matter. Does a child have or understand love? I don’t know, but if it doesn’t then it has something even better. Is she here for us to teach? Or perhaps, having recently come from God she brings a message that supper cedes the cares and doubts of this world, a message from her Father in Heaven. She brings a message of hope and of joy and of peace. She brings a message of purpose and a message of renewing. Like an opening flower at springtime, a glance from her eyes fills us with awe. Perhaps the time will be short and she will move into the world of man and leave the world of angels but for now there is an angel among us. In the future more angels will come and I hope to be able to see if but for a short time through the eyes of a child like Lindsey.

Heidi came home and we played games, watched movies, bowled and just enjoyed being together. Heidi, it felt good having you home and we are proud of all you are doing.

5:00 am this morning we waved good bye to David, Melissa, Caleb, Hyrum, Ammon, and Ruth who are on a plane returning home. What a delight it was to watch Hyrum jam on the Guitar Hero, Caleb shoot pool with Larry, Ammon find Lucy in the cupboard (hide and seek), and sing songs to Ruth cuddled on my lap while she stared at me with eyes that said, "Are you koo Koo or what?" Then Sunday we were priviliged to watch Caleb go up to the pulpit and bare his testimony for his first time in Sacrament meeting strait from his heart. David and Melissa, you know where your treasures lie and they are so lucy to have you.

There are 12 boxes in each case totaling 501 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies in our Basement! Lucy is a top seller and has earned $350.70 for her troop. She will be collecting $1,753.50. If we deliver 10 boxes a day, it will take 50 days, so we are delivering 50 boxes a day so it will take only10 days. (We are on day 3)

Christmas Concert

Tonight we went to the Christmas concert and Lucy sang in the stake childrens choir. There were ten ward choirs and a stake adult choir also. Mom and Lucy went up and sang in the Halilua chorus at the end. We were in the the 2nd row from the front and so it was really powerful and aswsom.

The Spanish ward sang in Spanish and Anna who is Tammys age was the director. It was really neat to see Anna and her sister and her mom and her dad and her aunt and her two cousins all in the choir. I remember when we would go home teaching and there wasnt much interest. It is so really nice to see how far they have all come.

An unfortionate thing has happened Monday. A short ladder came out from under Dad and he cut his arm on a light fixture. I think that TWO tendons were severed. He had stitchen put in it at the hospital, but Wednesday he will have an oporation. He is told that he will regain his normal movement in his arm, but will not be able to move it for at least 6 weeks. Please keep him in your prayers as we all want his arm to heal properly.

Fall, Family, and Fun

I always have to count how many plates to set as family keeps coming and going. Shortly after Sherry came and Heidi left for school and Sherry returned to Provo to prepare for Brazil; Peter, Cilla and family join in the fun. Grand kids in the hot tub, food, friends, and pool (on my new pool table) were all a part of Cilla's birthday celebration. Then we become grandparents of Number twelve, beautiful Zora! Then we get a phone call of number 13 to join Peter and Cilla's family in May! Then Mark comes home from California with his new weight set. After a wonderful week with David and Melissa and family, we said good bye this morning as they returned to Ohio. In two days John comes from Missouri and joins us on Halloween, and then on to Utah for Dad, then Thanksgiving here, then I granny-nanny in California with Lucy, and then at LD and Michelle's. ...And then wahoo, schools out and most everyone returns with Christmas at the beach and then we will party in the new year!

Wood cut

Scout arrived at our house at 6 am. Three deacon age and three teacher age including Andy. We drove to Mt Hood and got there at 8 am. We imediatly started working passing wood into the lodge in long lines. The lodge is big enough for 70 Scouts to sleep. It also has a larg proffisional grill like a restaurant. It is called Nanitch. Anyway, there was a very large stack of wood already there about 6 feet high and on the other side of the lodge was a large pile of trees on the ground. While we passed wood into the lodge and filled the basement and then stacked more onto the large pile a big group of men cut up the trees with saws and split them with wedges and sedge hammers. It was a facinating site with 50 men spliting and sawing and seveal hundred boys in several long lines passing wood. We worked steady until 1:30 PM. Then they had a lottery with the Scoutmasters for weekends to use the lodge. We will be going on February 23rd.

Birds of Feather Flock together

Yesterday David and Mom and I (dad) were standing on the deck when David looked at the power lines comming to the house and said, "what kind of birds are those? "I said, Paroketes." The we realized that they were not wild birds at all. Anyway, I tried to coax them down to my arm by wisteling and mom tried to get them to fly into the upstairs window with bread with no sucess. Then, I got my ladder and stood up by them. By now they were on the roof below the pipe that brings in the power line. I could get within a few feet of them. Next, I went back to the deck and climbed on the roof. David threw me a sheet and pillowcase. I threw the sheet over both birds at the same time. Then I reached under and crabed each one as the bit me. I put them in the pillowcase and handed it down to David. Mom put them in the hamster cage and took out the hamster until Lucy got home in a few minutes with her friends and a big gage. The two birds were obviously a pair but so far we dont know where they came from.

New School Year

LANDMARK YEAR- This begins our 27th and last year at Templeton! Thats 5,130 days that Dickinsons will attend that school. Thats 78 classrooms, 78 confrences, 78, open houses, approx 45 teachers, 9 principals, 27 carnivals and 10 talent shows. The only original person there is Mrs. Jones who is now Mrs. Kennedy. (She has been there 30 years) The 9 talent shows are: Never Tell a Lie, Barefoot Days, Caveman, Blue Moon, Snow White and 7 Dwarfs, I Can Do Anything Better than You, An Elepahnt Can't Fly, Jungle Jigglers, Babies in High Chairs, and Monster Mash.

1ST DAY OF SCHOOL-Today was Lucy's and Andy's first day of school and Luke starts tomorrow. Lucy went early this morning and helped as an Ambassedor. She is in leadeship and helps make new students feel wecome and find their way around. She left with straightened long hair, 2 inch dangling earrings, lip gloss, jewel necklace, silver flip flops, new yellow smock and flare jeans with her purple and pink polk-a-dot backpack. Upon arriving temporarly slipped on her red t-shirt Ambassedor uniform on top for her morning service.
Today was Andy's first day at High School and Seminary. Andy left in his new jeans, striped T-shirt and combed hair that you can tell that he got cut if you look really close.

WATER POLO-Daily double is over and Luke and Andy just played their first water polo game this year against Aloha.

DAVID'S COMING- We are looking forward to David coming into town this Saturday to scout out possible job opportunities!

HAIRSPRAY- Late at night after our big rafting trip some of us got a second wind and dashed off to see Hairspray. It was fun to see Sherry and Tammy and friends dancing out of the theator when it ended.

HOOD TO COAST- Early morning after the raft trip Luke joined Greg Koberlein and familyto run about 30 miles a piece and travel for two days. Luke did well with 6 minutes miles.

SKATING- The day after rafting a bunch of us went to Mt. Scott for our traditional skating activitie: Hockey, Hokie Pokie, Chicken Dance, and little rider toys for kids.

HORSEBACK RIDING- Sherry, Heidi and Lucy rode horses together in the corral. Lucy has been taking horseback riding lessons this summer and loves it.

GRANDPA DICKINSON'S ALMOST 90TH BIRTHDAY- About 90 people gathered from all over to celebrate this great man. Comments, gifts, old recordings, and songs were all presented to him. Relatives came from Texas, California, Utah and from all over Oregon to share in this happy event.

More Summer Highlights again

BULLWINKLES- Heidi, Luke, Andy, Lucy, and I competed in Miniature Golf and snuck around in the dark playing Lazer Tag with friends at this summertime party.

CARPET-Our basement has been recarpeted with brand new carpet by a real carpet installer! It feels so good to walk down the stairs on soft carpet into a colorful basement- Blue, reddish and green.

HEIDI and SHERRY-...came back for the end of the summer. We had fun rafting, going to a movie, going to Birthday parties, watching videos, shopping, playing games, skating, making quilts and just being together.

RAFTING-With 50 people, a school bus and a dozen ice chests we made a full day of rafting this year by stopping at all of our favorite river attractions. Many came for their first time with us such as the Merinos and the Colochos. Sherry, Heidi, Elizabeth Bankhead and Jill came into town and Mark stayed in town for this event.

HEDMAN PICNIC-We enjoyed many laughs as we chatted with family and Luke and Lucy 's clothes showed much evidence of the water fight.

POOL-Grandpa, Troy, LD, Will, Peter and I have started getting together for pool on occasion when in town. So practice up and join us, its fun.

WILSON'S (Overnighter)- Its always fun when the Wilson's come. Horseback riding, video games, movies, goodies, more movies, and no sleep sums up their party. (Dinner)-Fortune
Cookies and noodles were part of this fun event. (Heidi and Brittney) Heidi enjoyed an overnighter at Brittney's house. It was a special time for just the two of them.

ANDY'S EAGLE PROJECT- Andy successfully headed up a project to build an Education Center off of a trail at Magness Tree Farm. They leveled and then bordered a 150 foot trail with logs, built and secured 4 benches and made a viewing section by a famous Spring.

MIRANDA AND DEREK SLEEPOVER-Camping with flashlights in the basement in a homemade fort with 3 rooms, video games, Micky Mouse Pancakes, and Primary with Lucy is part of the fun things that we did.

SCOUT CAMP-Larry and Andy spent a week at Scout camp and Luke joined in for while. BB Guns, Archery, basketry, Sand Models, mile swims, and lots of walking was all part of this event.

BIKE TO THE COAST- Larry's Scout group biked to the coast. (I was a driver) On the trip they went to the Cheese Factory and the Air Show, went crabbing and camped.

DISNEYLAND-What funner way could we start the summer but to go to Disneyland! We enjoyed our time together- Dad, me, Peter, Cilla, Dallin, Eden, Tanner, Sherry, Tammy, Will, Mark, Heidi, Luke, Andy and Lucy! We enjoyed our stay at AJ's, Peter's, Tammy's and Mark's.

PROVO- Then on to Provo as Heidi got started at BYU at Heritage. There we enjoyed spending time with Paul, Kari, Sherry, Tammy, Will and friends.

HIGH ADVENTURE- Luke and Andy backpacked, hiked, climbed, and swam in Eastern Oregon.

GYMNASTICS- Lucy took gymnastics and climbed the rope clear to the top, but fell/slid down and got a nasty burn.

LIFEGUARD- Luke started working as a Lifeguard, but needs to stay awake on the chair.

QUILTS-We have made some quilts lately. Lucy's is pinky and sparkly. Heidi's is pinky with a little brown to add class. Sherry's is classy and non-pinky. A Baby quilt for Sherry's friend is lovely, periwinkle blue, ivory and light green.

BEACH- We enjoyed spending time at our house and then at the Beach with Paul, Kari, Wayne and Wanda. Wahoo, for the Dunebuggy rides on the sand.

We went tubing in the boat with 4 boys. We put two at time in the tube. I launched two at a time into the air. The boat wouldnt start after the last spin and we had to swim it home. The boys liked that too.

We had 15 riders including Luke and Andy and Dad. Mom and Lucy came along as support. We rode to Tillamook, to the cheese factory , to the air museum, and then to Cape LookOut Stake park. The next morning we went crabing. We caught a giant Starfish too!

Parade and Graduation

Luke and Andy ran in the Starlight parade with LD and kids. Luke wore a Batman costume and Andy helped bush a stroller.

Heidi graduated from High school and starts BYU latter this month. After the graduation I (dad) went to the senior party with Heidi. I rode as a chaperon on a different bus. Heidi came and got me at one point and we dressed up and got our photos in wedding clothes. Later another girl i didn't know as me to pose with her and finally I took two of Heidi's friends from the ward and they each dressed in wedding gowns and I with my top hat in between. My companion for the night was a lady who is a Presbyterian and said she had been a Mormon for a short time. She talked to me a lot about the church.

Lucy had a birthday party at Lost Lake by Mt Hood

11 girls and mom and dad stayed at a cabin at lost lake. We went in canoes, row boats, and paddle boats. The girls played games into the night, screamed at ants and spiders and played commando. The also had a fire and ate lots of food. We stopped at the Charbroiler at Cascade Locks on the way up. Dad hiked around the lake early in the morning.

Mothers Day

At church Lucy and Heidi each sang in seperate duets. Larry and Michell came over with the kids and most went in the hot tub and went on a walk to Fanno Creek. We ate and got fatter, well a little bit. Mom got calls from as many kids who could get through.
